EU Scholarship
EU Scholarship 2006/2007 (recruitment terminated)
EUIJ (EU Institute in Japan) offers scholarship to postgraduate students who wish to go to Europe aiming to research on EU-related studies. Please apply for EU scholarship in accordance with guidelines for applicants mentioned below.

- Targeted Students:
- Postgraduate students who are enrolled at the EUIJ-Tokyo Consortium member universities (Hitotsubashi University, International Christian University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Tsuda College) conducting research on EU-related studies (except international students ) and also who are not or will not be endowed with other scholarships offered by EU and/or other EU-connected organisations.

- Amount of Scholarship:
- 800,000 yen per student
Please note: Cost for Roundtrip International Airfare, Living expenses, Costs for collecting materials necessary for research and Tuition fee etc. are included.
- Duration:
- Period necessary for his or her research within the duration between 1 December 2006 and 30 September 2007.
- Screening:
- Each university will nominate 1(one) student based on application documents submitted by applicants, then members of EUIJ Working Group in charge of EUIJ Scholarship will screen them after interviewing with nominee of each university.

- Applicants must send their application documents by e-mail after editing following application details mentioned below with a file of A-4 size MS-WORD.
Please note: There is no restriction on written format of item (2) and below. You must change pages each time you edit item (1) through (6).

- (1) Application Form: You must input the application details on the form which can be downloaded from here
- (2) Curriculum Vitae: each one page both in Japanese and English
- (3) Research Plan at Host Institutions: You must edit your research plan with two pages both in Japanese and English, four pages in total.
You must make following points clear:
- The reason you choose the host institute
- Outline of visiting and/or host research institute
- Whether there is any instructor and/or mentor, if any, information on relevant instructor and/or mentor
- Progress on liason with the host institute
- (4) Itinerary: You must edit your itinerary within one page in English
- (5) Recommendation: Recommendation must be written by the present instructor and/or mentor of applicant in English. Both research capability and proficiency in English must be included
Please note: contact information of the recommender must be written.
- (6) Expenditure Plan: Expenditure Plan must be written in English within one page
- Report after returning:
- You must submit your report on research at EU-related Institute in Europe and Statement of Expenditure within two months after returning to Japan.
Please note: Report must be included his and/or her dissertation in Japanese and summary of your report in English within two pages of A4 size paper. Your summary in English will be published in EUIJ Newsletter. Statement of Expenditure must be written both in Japanese and English.

Notice of Results:
Results will be sent directly to those who are accepted for scholarship within a week after screening.
